Considering the survival of affected patients, on average, there are about 300-350 thousand cancer patients in the country. Cancer is a disease requiring teamwork and interdisciplinary expertise as well as is never treated an individual or in the form of a field. Therefore, it is necessary to establish research centers for conducting research related to cancer and obtain epidemiological and biological information in different parts of the country.Fighting against cancer to eradicate it is the goal of all cancer research centers. The Cancer Research Center (CRC) through unremitting efforts of researchers and their interdisciplinary collaboration hopes to find new ways to diagnose cancer more early-stage, detect more effective treatments with fewer complications, deal with the development and spread of cancer as well as solve domestic problems using existing solutions around the world. The CRC was established with the cooperation and efforts of the founding members and the support of the Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology of the University with an independent statute in 2009. The center has started its activity via examining cancer and its types, specifically examining common cancers in the country, improving the quality of life, increasing hope in cancer patients, communicating with doctors and specialists in the field of cancer, familiarity with screening methods and early diagnosis of cancer and so on. Then, via cooperation and continuous efforts of the CRC members and support of the Vice Chancellor of Research and Technology of the University, the CRC was able to receive an “agreement in principle” on 7/08/2016.The CRC has made scientific efforts in all types of basic, applied and developmental research.
